Paul Gardner-Stephen is working on an FPGA version of the Commodore C65. His goal is to make an 8-bit computer for the 21st century. The features of the C65 – FPGA will be: 1920×1200 @ 60Hz resolution, 256 colour palette from 4096 colours, 8 normal or enhanced sprites, faster CPU, 16MB RAM, multiple SID’s and more.

Release 5 fixes multiple bugs, and brings the game closer to the original. There are now five dwarves, as in the original, and you can’t just teleport out of tight spots. Of course, the game still rocks on 8-bit hardware.
