Ok, this is probably the least Commodore-related news we ever published, but I just found this article from Business Insider Australia where the Human Services Minister compares the computer system that delivers benefits to 7.5M people to a turbocharged Commodore 64…in a bad way!

“To put it simply, we are running a turbocharged Commodore 64 with a spoiler in the age of the iPhone”

It seems the system had recently glitches, and after being asked why, the Minister came out with this outrageous offence to our beloved computer. Australia, raise your voice to demand her to retract her statement! Can the Centrelink system play SID tunes!? or deliver amazing demos!?

  1. I think it is an exaggeration. Even a normally aspirated c64 would be a major improvement to the pile of drivel currently “powering” centrelink.
