RGCD just announced the 5th edition of its C64 16KB Cartridge Game Development competition. The deadline will be Feb 1st, 2016, which means the contestants will have 6 months to come up with awesome 16kb games for the Commodore 64. The organizers are also in the process to secure prizes and sponsors for the competition, and they plan to announce them as soon as they are defined.

The rules state that the games must be in working 16KB cartridge ROM format, and it doesn’t need to be brand new, as long as the game was never released in commercial and/or cartridge format before. It also states that existing games hacks won’t be permitted. Also, all games must support at least PAL.

The winners can have the game commercially released by RGCD, as long as the coder agrees with that.
