MojonTwins are well-known for their many great games for the ZX Spectrum and other “retro” platforms.
It is excellent news for all homebrew developers out there that they decided to release the source code of their game engine MK2, a framework consisting of a modular engine programmed in C and a set of tools to make games for ZX Spectrum. The engine makes use of external tools, like the z88dk compiler, the graphics library splib2, and others.
The repository README file also explains that splib2 has not been maintained for some time and due to the many changes that z88dk has had over time, it is difficult to compile the library as is so that you can download a precompiled version at http://www.mojontwins.com/churrera/mt -splib2.zip. You can also download the full Windows package from z88dk10 + splib2 at http://www.mojontwins.com/churrera/mt-z88dk10.zip.
The Github page also says that they don’t plan to continue the development of the MK2 engine, but contributions are welcome, of course. For those who want to learn how to use the engine, there are some tutorials (in Spanish) under the docs folder.
