TITANUS BATTLE -ZX Spectrum-

 by LAWLORD

TITANUS BATTLE is a one-on-one fighting game for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K — in the spirit of Mortal Kombat, but fought between giant transforming battle robots. The heroic TITANUS takes on the menacing SCORPHEX: punches, kicks, blocks, energy shots and special moves — and you can transform mid-fight.

Features

  • Versus fighting on a real 48K Spectrum: HP and energy (EN) bars, special moves and energy shots
  • Transform during the fight for a different attack style
  • 1 Player against a genuine CPU AI opponent
  • 2 Players head-to-head
  • Demo mode — watch the AI fight the AI (robot vs robot)
  • Redefinable controls

The story behind it. Back in the late 1980s / early 1990s, two schoolfriends were writing games in Sinclair BASIC. We dreamed of one thing above all: a Mortal Kombat-style fighting game, but between transforming robots. On a 48K machine in BASIC it was simply out of reach. About 35 years later, that dream is finally a real ZX Spectrum game.

This is a playable beta — the final loading screen and a few finishing touches aren’t done yet — so feedback from the community is very welcome.
