You escaped GloomKeep with the Idol of Orcus. It burns, and it will not go out. Ten floors above you the Spire opens onto the sky, and only the dawn can burn it away.
GLOOMKEEP II is a turn-based dungeon crawler for the Commodore 64 where the light that lets you see is the light that gives you away.
Carry the Idol and the dungeon opens up around you, and everything inside that light wakes up and sees you. Set it down and you disappear into the dark. But the stairs will not open for empty hands, so every clever sneak ends with a walk back to fetch it.
