Easy CPC is an Amstrad CPC emulator for Windows, built for people who simply want to load a disk or a tape and play, and who also like to peek under the hood. It emulates the Z80 CPC family, loads your files automatically and keeps a full debugger inside the window.
New: Amstrad GX4000 and CPC Plus. Easy CPC plays GX4000 cartridges (.cpr) with the Plus ASIC emulated: 4096 colours, hardware sprites, raster interrupts, split screen, smooth scrolling and DMA sound.
Why “Easy”? Open a .dsk, a .cdt, a snapshot or a cartridge (or a .zip / .rar with any of them) and it just starts. The right machine is picked for you, and the RUN” or |CPM command is typed for you.
Machines
- Amstrad CPC 464, CPC 664 and CPC 6128
- Amstrad GX4000: plays .cpr cartridges, with 4096 colours, hardware sprites, raster interrupts, split screen, hardware scrolling and DMA sound
- CPC 464+ and 6128+: they start from the system cartridge you provide yourself (Settings > Machine)
- Automatic model: disks start on a 6128, tapes on a 464, snapshots on the machine they were saved from
File formats
- Disks: .dsk (standard and extended, double-sided)
- Tapes: .cdt, .tzx, .csw
- Snapshots: .sna (versions 1, 2 and 3; 64 KB and 128 KB)
- Cartridges: .cpr (GX4000 / CPC Plus)
- Any of the above inside a .zip or .rar
