Blumenau, Santa Catarina is a city located in southern of Brazil, and it is well known for its Oktoberfest, as well as its unique architecture influenced by the German colonization. Now the city inhabitants can also enjoy a bit of retro computing. Last November, the city received its first Retro computing museum, dedicated to the history of Apple computers. With the suggestive name, the iMuseum has received several donations from private collections including original Apple equipment as well as Brazilian clones, so popular there during the 80’s, when one couldn’t import personal computers due to federal regulations at the time. There are also more modern devices, like iPods and iPads.
The museum is setup in a small space, but it is full of different machines, books and magazines. For those how can’t travel that far to visit the museum, its website is full of images and a 360o virtual tour.
