CPCRetroDev 2017 game development competition has been launched and is accepting games developed in any language for the Amstrad CPC 464. The winners will be getting 1,100€ in prizes, split into different categories: PRO, Universidad de Alicante students only and Special Mentions.
The contest is organized by the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence of the University of Alicante, the Cátedra Santander-UA de Transformación Digital, together with ByteRealms and Cheesetea.
The PRO category will be judged by a panel of “experts” taking into account only one of this characteristics: Fun, Technical Quality, Artificial Intelligence, Music and SFX, Graphical Quality.
The participation is open to everybody that develops a game for the CPC 464 and submits the final version before Tuesday, 31th of October 2017, 23:59h (CEST Timezone). The complete rules are available here (PDF). As a general rule, the game must run on a real machine as well as in at least one of most used Amstrad CPC emulators: JavaCPC and WinAPE. As expected, the game must be original, never be part of any contest, and never published.
