Dave Clarke of Impossabubble fame, has announced on Facebook that he’s updating his old game “Brick Racer” for the ZX Spectrum. The game was originally made last year, and judging by his comments on the AGD Facebook Group, it looks like he’s making good progress.
It’s getting there. I plan to also have a ‘modern’ version. At the moment I have 5 separate asm routines (one I’m not currently using, but I’m planning to). I think it’ll end up being 6 we’ll see. The buttons animate too.
Many of you may remember those 99 in 1 handheld brick games. They were a big fad in the 90’s and most were made in China. I even had a fake Tamagochi when I was young, that had it’s own version of Brick Racer, as well as brick versions of Tetris and Hang-Man. You can read more about these type of games over on Wikipedia. Also you can still buy these brand new on Ebay for as little as £3.99!
