Stefan Wessels has announced the immediate availability of his new RetroMate frontend for the Apple II computer.
According to the release on Slack:
Here's the first beta release of RetroMate. RetroMate is a front-end for the Free Internet Chess Server. It requires an IP65 network interface (Uthernet II in AppleWin works great). The source is not yet available, but will be soon (some issues to iron out - for example logout will throw a few errors, slowly, before it goes back to the offline menu). It's written in C using cc65 (hires drawing using Oliver Schmid's very cool raster operation 6502 code from cc65-Chess).
The goal is to spread this some more - FujiNet as well as Commodore 64 and Atari 800xl, for example. There's already an SDL version. This video will give you a good idea of what this is all about. The README.md describes how to use the game in a lot more detail. A .po image of the game also included. If you do try this, feedback appreciated and welcome (I know the flashing menu is a bit annoying but that's where I am right now
