Gerard Putter has announced the immediate availability of the latest version of the Virtual II Emulator, a full featured, shareware Apple II emulator for the Mac. This release addresses a number of issues reported by users of the emulator and included the following changes and updates:
- The Inspector window now offers a choice of two layouts, with different font sizes.
- Added a “find previous” button to the memory section of the Inspector.
- A Mac folder, mounted as a ProDOS disk, now supports sparse ProDOS files.
- A newly created initialized diskette now gets the correct file creation date.
- Fixed an issue that could crash Virtual ][ when the virtual machine directly accessed the I/O addresses of the SCSI card (which should only be used with the SmartPort and ProDos block interfaces).
- Fixed a glitch that could cause unexpected behavior in Applescript.
- The example Applescript “Mockingboard demo” failed on some machines; this has been fixed.
- Solved a few macOS 26 compatibility issues.
