A game for ZX Spectrum by lawlord
Office Slacker is an action/arcade game for ZX Spectrum 48K. The user is assigned to complete Q1_BUDGET.XLS but instead plays a pub-themed mini-game hidden on the computer. The player must quickly conceal the mini-game behind a fake spreadsheet whenever a bald boss approaches to check on their progress. There are two simultaneous avoid-detection challenges: monitoring the boss and the eyes in the pub mini-game. As the user progresses, more eyes appear and the boss speeds up. The game features full ROM beeper sound effects and a custom loading screen.
This title functions as a beta version, distributed as freeware, presented for the CSSCGC 2026. Development involved both human planning and AI input for visual and code elements.
The internal mini-game references ‘Piss in a Pint’ by Mat Gubbins (CSSCGC 2015).
