Apple II Notes: Early Technical References & Notes From Steve Wozniak

Seattle, Washington – August 1, 2026 – Apple Pugetsound Program Library Exchange (A.P.P.L.E.) has published a new book, Apple II Notes: Early Technical References & Notes From Steve Wozniak. It contains early technical references for the Apple II computer, encompassing more than 200 pages. It also features Steve Wozniak’s article on High-Resolution Color Graphics, and 14 pages of previously unseen handwritten notes from Woz. Written in 1977, they discuss interfacing with a printer — handshaking, PROM, schematics, assembly code, and instructions for use.

These Apple II Notes were not unique, but instead assembled for some of the first Apple user groups. It’s organized into four key sections: (1) Apple II Mini Manual, (2) Apple Supplemental, (3) Woz Notes [handwritten], (4) Misc.

Bill also co-produced and co-programmed the retro iOS game Structris. Bill is the author of ApPilot/W1, Beyond Quest, The Anatomy of an EAMON, and multiple EAMon adventure games. He is a systems engineer specializing in office infrastructures and has been programming since 1976. And he is the production editor for the A.P.P.L.E. website CallAPPLE.org, writes science fiction novels in his spare time, and is a retired semi-pro football player.
