This ZX Spectrum adaptation brings the long‑lost 1970s script‑driven Star Trek adventure to the home computer era, preserving its unique narrative style. Instead of the grid‑based tactical combat seen in the better‑known BASIC Star Trek game, this version unfolds as an interactive dramatic encounter aboard the Enterprise. Players issue commands as a Starfleet Captain, who relays orders to Spock, Sulu, Uhura, and Chekov.
Gameplay centres on strategic decision‑making: analysing enemy behaviour, managing ship systems, and choosing the right moment to attack, evade, or bluff your way through the enemy’s defences. Each action triggers scripted reactions from the crew, creating a dynamic story that shifts based on the player’s choices.
This is a direct port of the original CDC 6000 BASIC listing, reproduced faithfully without gameplay changes or added features. Every command, reaction, and narrative beat behaves exactly as it did on the 1970s mainframe, preserving the historical quirks and pacing of the source material.
