The Cassette Vision was an early cartridge-based home video game console released by Epoch in Japan in 1981.
It became one of Japan’s popular home video game systems in the years before the arrival of Nintendo’s Family Computer (NES).
On a sudden whim, I decided to create Mazinger Z based on a simple idea:
“What if a Mazinger Z game had been released for the Cassette Vision back then?”
The game is designed to capture the simple gameplay and limited visual style of early home video games.
I hope you enjoy this little tribute to the classic era of Japanese gaming.
