From Michael Schaffer:
I’m super excited to announce the release of my first adventure game. Designed entirely using the HGR11/2 screens but built to bring you back to the early days of Mystery House and others of that genre.
This first one is released for free – and it will build the base for a series that I’m crafting – so you’ll have to play this one for the 2nd in the series to make sense. My hope is that you’ll enjoy this first one and will want to come back for more! Love it? Hate it? Let me know!
It will be available on my site as a FREE download (scroll/read to the bottom). It should work on any Apple II, II plus, IIe w/ 64k or more. Ideal screen is color composite or monochrome – not great on the RGB. I use the color fringing to the benefit of the game – so it adds a unique flair. – ENJOY
The Forgotten Room
A New Horror Adventure for the Apple II
Jacob is closing the furniture store for the night when a flickering hallway light leads him somewhere that should not exist. Beyond an old armoire lies a shifting maze of forgotten rooms—and something is still moving furniture in the dark.

Features include:
- Original Apple II HGR graphics and animation
- Custom character-generated text
- Multiple rooms, creatures, and puzzles
- Two possible endings based on your final decision
- Supplied as a bootable ProDOS HDV image
