The Atariage user “MADRAFI” has announced a new game called Star Vagrant, a space trading game for the Atari XL/XE. This is actually a game I am very interested in trying.
In the game, you will be in charge of a small cargo ship and be able to travel through 25 different locations and trade 24 unique commodities. As you progress, you can buy new and bigger spaceships and also discovering new routes that will make your travels fast and your life easier. As the game website states, “The ultimate game goal is to earn as many credits as you can, buy bigger cargo ships and become king of goods transportation.”
Looking at the game website, it features very nice graphics that illustrate the many screens which make a non-action game like this way more attractive and fun to play. Adding to that, the game comes in 3 languages: English, Polish, and German.
Star Vagrant is a commercial release and it will be available as a digital download for USD$12 and also as a boxed version containing Interstellar map, manual in English, 5.25″ Floppy disk and the digital version in a cassette-like USB stick for $35 + shipping. The latter can be also purchased individually for $25 + shipping. Please, keep in mind that the site is taking pre-orders.
