In speaking to George Bachelor, the creator of Blast Annual 2020: Volume 1, as to what motivated him to put together a retro gaming themed annual, he revealed:
“All I have wanted to do is support the retro gaming community as much a I possibly can. This is what motivated me in creating Blast Annual 2020. I wanted to celebrate the retro gaming community in its entirity. From games releases to the game dev behind the games. From game dev contests to demo parties and the vibrant community that makes it all happen”
While Blast Annual 2020: Volume 1 kicks off the celebration of the retro gaming community, George intends to follow up this publication with volume 2 scheduled to be released by the end of 2020:
“When collecting and researching content for Blast Annual 2020 I just couldn’t believe how incredibly massive the retro gaming scene is at the moment. There was just so much retro gaming content I wanted to show it all in a fantastic hard cover book – but one book wasn’t enough, two had to be created to cover all the content and even then it still felt like even more content and games should have been included.“
As you can see from the sample pages below Blast Annual 2020: Volume 1 is a high quality professional publication that covers a broad variety of topics and is a great read for everyone interested in retro gaming.
