"Stinger": electrifying shooter for 8-bit computers

Developer Fabrizio Caruso (Italy) has unveiled his latest creation: “Stinger,” the eighth game developed using his own open-source framework, CrossLib.

“Stinger” is a fast-paced vertical shooter where players must fend off advancing enemy tanks. It offers an exhilarating experience with six challenging levels and introduces five different types of enemies, ranging from nimble “light” tanks to powerful “howitzers.”

One of its standout features is the wide variety of power-ups designed to enhance your speed, shooting power, and rocket capacity. It also includes special boosters like “Freeze,” which temporarily immobilizes your foes.

Similar to his previous projects, “Cross Stinger” is compatible with both mosaic-based graphics and ASCII graphics, and it is fully functional on over a dozen cross-compilers.

The versatile CrossLib framework can be compiled for nearly two hundred 8-bit computers and consoles, as well as calculators and other devices, without making changes to the original code.
