Sixteen levels full of action is what “Agent Wander” offers us, a platform game written by Jacob Copsey for Atari 8-bit computers with a minimum of 48K of memory.
The premise is simple: you must collect all the hearts in each stage, for which you have to dodge enemies and use teleporters. In a clear nod to Mr. Robot and his Robot Factory (Datamost, 1983), we will earn more points if before taking the last heart we have walked on all the platforms.
“The game is being developed to fulfill the dream I had as a child, of creating a professionally quality game for my Atari 800XL. My goal is to try different techniques I’ve read about to make the most of the hardware available on 8-bit Atari computers,” explains Copsey on his website.

“Agent Wander” is being written in assembly language; and although it was originally designed for NTSC standard A8 computers, version 0.2 has PAL support – for correct colors and playback speed.
For the future, the author hopes to implement more levels; a score table saved to disk; a built-in custom level editor, and add the essential musical theme in the game’s intro.
