Henry Lowe has announced the release of the latest version of his Card Cat Apple II card identification program. Card Cat 1.7 includes a host of additional cards in the catalog including the following:
- Improves detection of RAM cards installed in Slot 0 or the Auxiliary Slot.
- Detects Garret’s Workshop RAM2E Card revisions in Auxiliary slot on Apple IIe.
- Detects Garret’s Workshop RAM128 RAM cards.
- Detects Garret’s Workshop GR8RAM card.
- Detects Garret’s Workshop TimeDisk card.
- Displays RAM size on Apple Memory Expansion (Slinky) cards.
- Added additional firmware-based cards to the Card Cat database.
- Fixes minor bugs and database issues.
- Removed signatures bytes from slot list to free up space on 40-column display.
- Card Name Edit function removed as feedback suggests it was not useful.
- Cosmetic UI changes to Card ROM display.
Card Cat will run on all Apple II series computers from the Apple II plus through the Apple IIgs. It can identify 87 different Apple II cards and even functions properly on an Apple II emulator.
