Fredrik Ramsberg has announced the release of Adventure 350p Release 10. According to his posting, “Release 10 of Adventure, 350p version, PunyInform edition, is out.
Earlier releases have used something called a custom alphabet table, to improve text compression and thus reduce file size. The resulting game works fine in all modern Z-code interpreters, but as it turns out, not in old Infocom-era interpreters. So, this release removes the custom alphabet table, making the game 1 KB bigger.
If you already have a copy, and have noticed odd characters (e.g. all captial “T” would be printed as “x”), you will want to upgrade. If you have a copy and you haven’t noticed any problems, there’s no real need to upgrade.
