TheC64 Mini Firmware 1.0.6 Update Coming This Week

Retro Games Limited has announced that they will be releasing firmware version 1.0.6 for TheC64 Mini on the 5th April 2018.

Version 1.0.6 is set to feature the following changes:

– Maps additional functions to joystick buttons for some games
– Makes minor changes to descriptions for some games
– Fixes an occasional scenario where an additional USB joystick is not detected until a restart
– Fixes an intermittent audio click when opening the THEC64 Mini’s MENU in-game

Unfortunately, the firmware update does not include the eagerly anticipated ‘Advanced Launcher’ that Retro Games indicated would be available by the end of March. The ‘Advanced Launcher’ will allow gamers to choose from a selection of disks on USB and allow multi-disk files/games to be accessed.

Retro Games stated that the ‘Advanced Launcher’ features will be included as part of firmware version 1.0.7 but they have not stated when this would become available.

  1. What I don’t hear many people talking about is the noticeable delay in joystick input and response of the game. Everything seems to be delayed by half a second. Any news if that’s being dealt with?

    1. This is probably your display, or insufficient power supply. I have no lag, and many others don’t, and a number of people on the forums reported the lag disappearing when they either put their tv in game mode, used a different tv, or switched to a 2.5 amp power supply.

      1. Thanks, I’ll try a different power supply. The TV is fine—it’s in game mode, plays other devices without any lag.
