The WOZPAK: Original Edition

Seattle, Washington – August 1, 2026 — Apple Pugetsound Program Library Exchange (A.P.P.L.E.) has published The WOZPAK Original Edition: Steve Wozniak’s Apple II Computers, intended for collectors who want to own a reprint of this early work. It contains almost 300 pages, with much of it in the original handwriting of Steve Wozniak.

The WOZPAK is a historically important collection of documentation on using the Apple II computer through BASIC and Machine Language. Originally published in 1978, it served as the first official technical manual for the Apple II with materials provided directly from Steve Wozniak and Apple Computer president Mike Scott to the A.P.P.L.E. User Group.

The WOZPAK Original Edition contains fully-restored and enhanced pages, a new back cover, and the original front cover. The WOZPAK: Special Edition continues be available as the most expanded and complete version at 420 pages.

Bill Martens — Apple historian and enthusiast, programmer, President of Apple Pugetsound Program Library Exchange (A.P.P.L.E.) and co-producer of Call-A.P.P.L.E. magazine, and books like: Cyber Jack, Synergistic Software: The Early Games, Nibble Viewpoints, The WOZPAK Special Edition, and What’s Where in the Apple: Enhanced Edition. Bill also co-produced and co-programmed the retro iOS game Structris. Bill is the author of ApPilot/W1, Beyond Quest, The Anatomy of an EAMON, and multiple EAMon adventure games. He is a systems engineer specializing in office infrastructures and has been programming since 1976. And he is the production editor for the A.P.P.L.E. website CallAPPLE.org, writes science fiction novels in his spare time, and is a retired semi-pro football player.
