The Atlantic website has published an article where the author, Benj Edwards goes back down the memory lane, talking about his time as a kid accessing the BBSes via a dial-up modem and how liberating that was, before the Internet was really a thing.
The article has a good mix of personal experiences and straightforward history facts and I believe everyone that used BBSes in the past will enjoy reading.
