Amstrad CPC owners who are fans of platform shoot’em up games likes Turrican and Metroid, may have been looking at Steel Ranger for the C64 in envy over the past few months wondering when they would get to receive an equivalent quality title for their beloved machine. Well ESP Soft has provided Amstrad owners with a great response in the guise of Galactic Tomb.
In Galactic Tomb, you play the role of a commander of the elite of the imperial army, who has been appointed to carry out a mission to look for magical objects that are required to prolong the life of the current emperor. To do so, you will need to explore through three different worlds of hostile enemies and terrain.
Upon our initial play through of Galactic Tomb, we were very impressed with the visuals and, in particular, the soundtrack contained within the game. Game style is in the vain of Turrican and Metroid. The game does stutter or lag from time to time but this does not diminish the overall experience, which was very good.
Galactic Tomb is available as a freeware title and ESP Soft has gone the extra step to provide an instruction manual and preface guide (both in Spanish), along with a disk case cover and cassette cover for you to download.
