“Welcome to Mother Russia comrade!”
At a time when tensions between super powers were at an all time high, at a time when the chill of ‘cold war’ penetrated the hearts of nations, there can be only one ending and no victories.
The threat of global nuclear warfare was rife in the mid 80’s as the west and east entered into an arms race, developing weapons of mass destruction, enough destruction to wipe out cities at the push of a button from the warmth of missile silo’s, targeting the masses across oceans with inter continental ballistic missiles.
‘Raid over Moscow’… It has begun..War!
Beginning in a vast aircraft hanger high in orbit, a task force is sent on a deadly mission to destroy soviet missile sites. Entering fighter aircrafts and carefully navigating through the hanger doors, no simple task as the void of space takes gravity from play, the mission begins. Flying low beneath radar and avoiding cruise missiles, the harsh Russian landscape soon becomes littered with hostile targets and obstacles. Industrial buildings, tanks, trucks and anti-aircraft sites all must be destroyed if possible to hinder the soviet war effort.
Speed and skill being essential as the clock is ticking, an ever present reminder that high above, enemy missiles are en route to to flatten capital cities back home. If successful, if…. survived, you are soon face to face with the central launch mechanism, looking for the achilles heel of the structure to render it obsolete and remove the threat from the skies.
With several soviet cities each hosting deadly missile silo’s, each target must be reached and destroyed with varying types of terrain to assault as your team of commandos propel themselves ever closer to Moscow and the Kremlin only to face the crack troops and armour defending the building.
Armed with rocket launchers, elevating the weapon with accuracy to kill enemy soldiers mounted on walls and patrolling armour, the action intensifies as spires upon high come crashing down from stray shots and enemy gunfire becomes rife to stop in you in your tracks to be left for dead in the cold of the Russian snow.
Upon entering the Kremlin, once successfully through the outer defences, any remaining units must hurl explosive discs at the sentient machine controlling the war effort to destroy millions. Bringing to use all your dedicated training and skills, it soon becomes apparent that rebounding the disc off walls to hit the target is one of the most challenging missions you have ever faced. It’s why, after all, you’re team was chosen to carry out this most dangerous of missions and as such, there will be casualties.
