L’abbaye Des Morts port coming to C64

Double Sided Games have announced that they will be porting across L’abbaye des morts (loosely translated to mean Abbey of the Dead) to the Commodore 64 and have released a sneak peak of a couple of screens. It was also unveiled that the general coding, graphics and sound will be worked on by Saul Cross and Wanax.

Already available on other platforms such as the ZX Spectrum, Mac OS, and Windows, L’abbaye des morts is a platform game inspired by the tragic history of the Cathars (who were persecuted by the Catholic Church for their beliefs in that there are two Gods, one good and the other evil) and platform games like Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy.

We’ve seen some great platformers on the C64 of late, and if the early screenshots are anything to go by then we can look forward to L’abbaye des morts becoming another must have title for the Commodore 64.
