This post is for those that like to get their hands dirty, opening the C64 and replacing dying parts. Sometimes the hardest part is to find and match modern components to the ones used to build a Commodore 64 back in the 80s.

An article on Technologically Induced Coma blog has listed all the parts of a Rev C board and matched them to the correspondent modern part # used by Element 14 website.

If you have that board revision and are concerned about your C64 health, check it out. If you are not versed in soldering or any electronic background, it is still worth bookmark the page for a rainy day.

  1. I have repaired a lot of commodore 64 units most capacitors that i have replaced are those involved in the power supply sections .
